Because Dogs Deserve a Holiday Too
We know that dogs are part of the family and that the best holidays are the ones where everyone can relax. That’s why we’ve thought about the little details that make staying with your dog easier, happier and considerably less muddy!

Monty
Head of the Welcome Committee
Monty is our resident dog and Head of the Welcome Committee. He loves sticks, balls, cuddles and—regrettably—fox poo. He’s all woof and no bite, so do say hello when you see him!
We provide the extras
So you don't need to pack them
You’ll find a collection of thoughtful dog-friendly extras waiting for you, including:
-
Dog bowls
-
Tasty dog biscuits
-
Poo bags
-
Towels for wet and muddy paws
-
Throws for protecting the furniture
-
Special “I’m on holiday” dog tags with Ellicombe’s contact details
The tags provide a little extra peace of mind while you are away—and ensure everyone knows that your dog is enjoying a proper Exmoor holiday too.

Muddy paws are welcome
Our dedicated dog wash station is suitable for even the biggest dogs
After a walk, you can rinse off muddy paws and soggy coats at our dog-wash station before heading back to your cottage. Towels and throws help make life easier once you’re indoors, so you and your dog can settle down and relax together.
Walk straight into Exmoor
One of the loveliest things about staying at Ellicombe is being able to step outside and begin exploring.
Wonderful walks lead from the cottages and up into Exmoor National Park, with woodland paths, open countryside and plenty of new scents to investigate. There is no need to get into the car every time your dog needs a proper walk—adventure begins right outside your door.
Beautiful dog-friendly beaches are within easy reach, while the surrounding area has plenty of welcoming pubs and cafés where four-legged visitors are as welcome as their humans—perfect for refreshments after a long walk or a sandy adventure.
